Hello my lovely sewist friends.
Today we have Part 1 of our gorgeous new Sloane PJ’s Pattern Testers Roundups.
And they are certainly fabulous.
Given we are coming towards the festive season – which means gift giving – the Sloane would make a gorgeous option to gift someone who is close to you.
The Sloane PJ’S can be made in a variety of fabrics. From a soft and slinky satin right through to a warm and cozy flannelette.
As you will see by our roadies finished Sloanes the choice is limitless.
Pyjamas in high end retail outlets can cost around $300 so making your own Sloanes will give immense satisfaction.
And the added bonus is that teens sizing is also included in the pattern which equals to 19 sizes to choose from.
So with our usual WOOT WOOT please welcome our roadies in Part 1 of the Sloane PJ’S Pattern testers Roundups.
Love to you all.

Hello, I’m Ashley Riley from London!
I’m excited to share my new Sloane PJs with you all.
To start off, the Sloane pattern is made for woven fabrics. I made two short sets, one in cotton and another in a flowy viscose both from @abcfabric.
I always recommend making a toile in a similar type of fabric to what you plan to use for your final garment. Since I’m only 5 feet tall, I shortened the bodice by 1 inch so it sits just right, and took ½ inch off the shorts length as well.
I absolutely love all the piping details, they really make my PJs stand out! I’ve already worn them a few times and they’re super comfy. Next time, I plan to make the longer trouser version, which will be perfect for winter.

Hi my name is Meredith and I live in the beautiful northern rivers area of NSW Australia. I actually made my Sloanes when Ann first drafted the pattern a while ago now. And I have worn them a lot!!
It is such a beautiful pattern. The fit is spot on and they are so comfortable. I made this pair in a satin – I think they look a little retro and really love them.
The weather up here in the northern rivers is hot and steamy, so I’m looking forward to making myself a summer pair in a light cotton.
You won’t be disappointed with this pattern.

Hi all, I’m Steph from Sydney, Australia.
Would you believe this is the first set of PJs I have ever made! The first of many Sloane sets because they’re so cute.
I used a satin fabric for that lux feel and created my own black trim to add some detail to the garment. The instructions make it so easy to personalise and add those trim details as it’s all written into them.
I love the dramatic neckline on the Sloane and the pants construction is so simple but produce a great design.
For my next set I’m thinking a lightweight cotton and the shorts view for the Aussie summer upcoming!

My name is Synthia and I live in Central, Ca. I went a little practical with my Sloane fabric. I wanted more comfort and relaxation, so I went with cotton fabric with a tab bit of a cute trim, so comfortable to wear to bed or lounge around. I made the short sleeve version. I do plan on making more for this coming cold weather out of Linen. Tips, always make a muslin, I find sometimes the pants run big on me, so I do need to sew up a muslin for my perfect fit. Love the Sloane pjs. https://sewsynsewn.blogspot.com

Hi everyone, I’m Tina from California, and I’m excited to share my Sloane Sleep Set! I created this set using a beautiful floral Charmeuse Satin from Cali Fabrics. This was a very easy sew, and I highly recommend not skipping the bias tape trim—it adds such a nice and professional finish. The only adjustments I made were removing a bit of length from the sleeves and inseam for a perfect fit! I absolutely adore the short puff sleeves; this is now my most comfortable sleep set. Once the weather actually cools down here, I’m already planning on a cozy set in flannel with long sleeves!

Hello Lovelies, this is Brenda from the Netherlands.
I’ve now made 2 Sloan PJ sets. One from silk for myself, and a flannel one for my teen, that now, finally!! fits in DS sizes. Yeah!
I’m very happy that I can use the patterns from Designer Stitch for my teen, the fit is always so fantastic.
The silk fabric came from, I think, Megastoffen.nl, but I have had it for over a year, so I don’t know sure. The flannel is bought at an online auction site. It was all white, and a lot of it, so I dyed parts of it with fabric dye.
The Sloan PJ set is not a difficult set to make, but it can be a little time consuming with the piping. If you omit the piping it will be done and dusted in a few hours. I do advise to add the piping, it is giving the PJ’s a fabulous appearance.

2. What fabric combinations did you choose and where did you purchase
The top fabric is a cotton print bought from Hitchin markets in Hertfordshire, UK last year.
The crepe fabric is from my stash.
3. What sewing tips can you share when sewing the Sloan sleep set?
Decide on how luxurious you want to sleep and buy that fabric.
Practice sewing in piping if this is a new technique for you.
Find buttons that either hide amongst the fabric or are a big contrast to the fabric. Avoid buttons
with a shank too.
4. What was your style choice for the Sloane Sleep Set?
I chose the short sleeve top and the long pants for the coming Summer months.
5. What fit alterations did you have to make to the Sloan Sleep Set ?
I used size 4.
The bodice is shortened by 5cm. The pants are 6cm shorter than the full length pants.
6. Have you worn your Sloan Sleep set yet and what compliments did you receive.
This is the perfect set to sleep in as the weather is getting hotter and more humid.
If you’re wondering why they sort of look like pjs is because in September, we stayed in a lovely
hotel in Berlin. The very first morning we woke to a fire alarm. Thankfully I had a raincoat to throw
over my pjs at the time.
There’s no way I’ll have to cover myself if there’s a fire emergency either at home or when we travel.
7. Any plans for future combinations of the Sloane Sleep set?
I’m planning on sewing a satin version next year.

Hi all! I’m Sandra from the Netherlands! I love my new pj’s. I used flannel and its soooo soft! This pattern is sooo comfortable to wear and beautiful too! My style choice was nice and comfortable to bed. Be warned with making this pattern (especially with soft fabrics): you want to wear this ALL DAY and your husband/wife wants to touch you ALL NIGHT.
Will definitely make more!
