1. My name is Lieve D and I live in Ghent (Belgium).
2. My husband and my mother always complain that my skirts are too long, so I threw my shyness overboard and went for spicy short. The three-quarter sleeves make the whole thing smooth and stylish.
3. I made the dress in a sturdy textured tricot that I bought at Toverstof in Destelbergen. Sorry ladies, it was the last of the roll!
4. Don’t be afraid, in this dress there are not really difficult techniques. The manual shows you the way!
5. Because there is no zipper in the dress, she finished very quickly. Super, right?
6. My husband and my mother, usually not an easy crowd, loved my Jasmine. And my friend Annelies loved the Audrey Hepburn-style!
7. This dress doesn’t need styling: a pair of classic pumps and there we go!

hi hi I’m Boon Kuan from Singapore. I’m making my Jasmine sleeveless for wear in my warm climate, with a lovely black Ponte I have gotten from Spotlight.
For me, little black dresses are indispensable but black need not mean boring. This ponte is textured but still smooth to the touch and to wear.
And there is nothing boring about Jasmine at all. The pockets add such interest to a classic dress.
Being a fitted dress, it is advisable to have a muslin of a similar fabric before cutting into your prized fabric as every body is gloriously different.
Once your dress is perfected, throw on a pair of heels and u r ready for a night out!
Enjoy your Jasmine, and come hang out with me at www.instagram.com/limbksews 🙂

Hi, here is Marieke from the Netherlands.

I am going to repeat myself and again I am saying I have a new favorite dress!

Well, I am the new owner of three beautiful Jasmines, all with a different style. I made a sleeveless version with the shortest length from ponte in a hint of mint.😁 Perfect as summer dress!

I sewed one with 3/4 sleeves and middle long length. Because of the pattern in the fabric, I used a plain fabric for the front sides. This is my favorite on this moment! I styled it with knee boots and a short jacket, with ankle boots and a vest and with high heels and ‘just’ the dress. Let’s say: it’s pretty easy to style for every occassion.

My third one is the one with the long length and although I mostly go for a short version, this one is looking so classic and I must say: I have a different opinion about long length now..

Take your time for sewing the pockets. Go through every step and yes, sew that stay stitch! It’s so worth it!

This dress make me feel like a woman and sexy on a higher level, when you get what I mean.

You don’t have to worry about compliments, you’ll receive plenty!❤

When you want, have a look at my Instagram. You’ll find a lot of my DS garments and other makings.

Hello from snowy Colorado. Melissa here xx ! I chose to make a beautiful long sleeved red Jasmine for my daughter Cherish. It’s chilly here and the style is perfect for these cold winter days. I used red performance knit the same weight as a moderately heavy ponte. I keep it in my my fabric stash because it’s a favorite with my daughters. Jasmine is an easy dress to create, but practice the pockets.
We love The Jasmine for it’s style, all season comfort and wearability!!!
As with every DS pattern that we sew, people love it!!!!Thanks again Ann for a wonderful wardrobe!!!!

Hi! Im Naomi, an Aussie residing in little Montenegro. I choose the knee length, elbow sleeve for the gorgeous new Jasmine dress to be able to get the most out of it year round. Because, something so beautiful deserves to be worn through every season!
I used a thin Garment Neoprene for one version and a flowy poly knit for another. Both are amazing in their own way.
When sewing the Jasmine, those pockets can be tricky! But watching the awesome instruction video on YouTube makes them a walk in the park! After that, it comes together quickly.
The Jasmine dress is so easy to blend sizes (it has Cup Sizes!!) And get a great fit that it looks stunning on every body. My sister has already requested I make her a work wardrobe full of them.
Whether it’s as work wear, with tights and boots, or dressed down with sneakers, I know mine will be worn all year round.

My name is Rae N and I live in Kansas City, MO. I chose a thick ponte de roma fabric for the Jasmine because it is still winter here in Missouri and gets quite cold. The thickness also helps smooth out the appearance of the dress. I purchased my fabric from Sly Fox Fabrics and as always the shipping was fast and the quality is amazing. A tip for sewing the Jasmine is to press, press, press. Every time you see the iron icon on the pattern directions go over the dress with a good steam. I use a steamer versus a conventional iron just to protect the fabric from any chance of melting. Also, practice that pocket! It is phenomenal when it comes out how it is supposed to. I love how it looks. It is a great business casual dress that I feel comfortable wearing to work. I’ve worn my Jasmine out several times and absolutely everyone loves the pockets. I’ve had several people want to commission one from me already. I typically wear my Jasmine with leggings when I am at work. When I took pictures I wore it with short booties and no leggings. I think it would look great with colored tights as well. I went with a chunky necklace from the mid 1980s and some matching earrings for my final look. Hi! I’m Sarah from Virginia. I chose to make a sleeveless Jasmine because I liked the look best, which was maybe not the best choice in winter 🙂
I used some navy ponte I had from my stash. I will definitely be making more of these, so I’ll be on the lookout for nice medium to heavy weight ponte!
Jasmine was very easy to sew, the only potentially tricky part was the pocket welt. I watched a video of how to construct it and had no issues!
I loved how the neckband really made the dress look professional. It’s a great touch over straight bands.
I haven’t have a chance to wear my Jasmine out yet 🙁 but when my son saw me wearing it to take photos, he said I looked very pretty 🙂

My name is Stacey and I live on the south coast of England.
I chose to sew the mid length Jasmine with 3/4 sleeves, as it is currently quite cold in the UK!
I used a ponte roma I bought from my local Fabricland shop.
My sewing tip would be, not to stretch the seams as you sew.
I loved making the pockets, as they are very unique, and a real stand out feature of the dress. It was fun to see them come together.
I am keeping my styling simple, just with heels or boots, and maybe a cardi layered over the top if it’s cold!
I have worn my Jasmine, and those that saw it loved the design, especially the pockets!

Hi, my name is Synthia, I live in Central California. For my Jasmine dress, I chose the knee length version with a 3/4 sleeve. I am a fan of knee-length and 3/4 sleeves. I used a Ponte Knit fabric. As always, my biggest tip is to sew up a muslin first for best fit and iron, iron, as you go along. I have not had the chance to wear my Jasmine but plan on as soon as I have a date. I do love how the front pockets came together in the design. Thank you Ann Grose for another fun design. https://sewsynsewn.blogspot.com

Greetings from a warm and windy Cape Town, South Africa. My name is Taryn and I am addicted to DesignerStitch patterns 😊. I opted for the short sleeve Jasmine so that it would be suitable for all seasons and office appropriate. I made 2 Jasmine’s in testing – for the first (my toile but perfectly wearable) I used a teal bullet fabric (liverpool) and for my 2nd I used Black Ponte (with stretch pleather for the neckband and pocket trim). Both where previous purchases and so the fabric was in my stash. I definitely recommend checking out Camilla’s amazing video tutorial for the pocket. It will help you make sense of the instructions and achieve a perfect result. Also, I recommend practicing the technique first to ensure perfection on your final garment. It was the first time sewing with stretch pleather and seeing the image in my head come to life was a big highlight. Jasmine has already become a regular favourite in my wardrobe – not just for myself but my husband too. He believes it is one of my best makes to date. I am never short of complements when I step out in Jasmine. I am not that adventurous with styling (mainly because the picture in my head never quite translates in real life :D) When in doubt, I figure you can’t go wrong with a pretty necklace and stiletto heels. Sewing has become my favourite creative outlet and confidence booster. You are welcome to pop by and follow my creative journeys on either of the following social media platforms

My name is Valentina, and I live in Carrollton, TX.
I made 3 Jasmine dresses: 3/4 sleeve, short sleeve, and sleeveless. And I made the shortest length which is the most flattering on me.
For the 3/4 sleeve one (orange with trees) I used a jacquard cotton knit from Jumping June Textiles. This fabric has no spandex content, so it trends to stretch out a bit, but it’s not very noticeable. I just love the fabric and I decided to use it anyway.
For the short sleeve white floral dress I used a scuba knit from So Sew English Fabrics. This fabric works very well for the Jasmine.
And my hunter green one is a rayon ponte from Fabric Wholesale Direct. This was really the perfect fabric for the dress.
The Jasmine dress is not hard to sew, however the pockets are tricky. Make sure to take your time with them. Ann will tell you to practice first.
My favorite thing about the dress are indeed the pockets. When I made my toile I thought my pockets turned out horrible. But then after pressing, they were actually pretty nice. Each time I made a new dress, I thought my pockets didn’t come out great, but at the end they were nice.
I have won’t my orange and green Jasmines to work a few times. People noted they were pretty. I can’t wait to wear the white one, but waiting for some spring weather. I think it’s my favorite one.
I haven’t done much in terms of styling. Since it’s cold these days, I woke it over thick tights with boots or ankle boots.

My name is Yelena and I’m from California.
I chose ¾ sleeves because its still pretty cold here in February. I used Ponte that I purchased from Joann fabrics although they don’t have very many options to chose from. When making the dress I noticed the pockets took me a while to do even though they look fairly simple and pretty straight forward.
I love the simplicity of the dress and the pockets! The simplicity makes it very easy to style as it goes with various accessories. The different sleeve lengths make it trans seasonal so there’s really no excuse not to make it.
