My name is Marie and i live in the Netherlands. I used a cotton for my first Rylie, and viscose twill for the second one and the one for my daughter, i feel like that drapes better for the tied up style. The one for myself i took from the fabric store i work at and the one for my daughter is from senzalimits. With sewing this shirt i would say just take your time, line up everything right and you willl be fine! I chose the one with the ties at the side because i am just in love with it, it looks so good! I did not make any alterations at mine, but i would shorten the sleeve a bit next time, for my daughter i shortened the bodice by around 4 cm and the sleeves around 5 cm, that was the right call for her. I did wear it to work and a few people loved it! I would love to make another one with the pleated sleeves and maybe another with the tied up side as it is really versatile.

Hi, I’m Lynn from Scotland, UK.
The minute I saw the line drawings for the Rylie drawstring option, a little stripe obsession was ignited! I’d been saving this Art Gallery Fabrics striped rayon challis I found at Minerva – it has such beautiful drape – just waiting for the right pattern to come along.
Because the stripes are printed horizontally, I took a chance and cut the larger pieces on the crossgrain (smaller ones on grain) to get the stripe play look I wanted. I cut single layer, moving each piece straight from cutting table to machine for stay-stitching to avoid stretching out, and I’m happy to say the collar went in like a dream.
Fit-wise, I made a size 7DD with my usual tweaks, shortening both the body and the sleeves a little too. I really appreciate that DS patterns include cup options, so no full bust adjustment needed – and I was delighted that the straight sleeve didn’t require a full bicep adjustment either.
It’s great to have a new shirt pattern with thoughtful details and options ready to explore. Since finishing my test version, I’ve already cut out another option in printed lawn and am on the hunt for the perfect fabric for the third. Thanks for reading and you can find more of my makes at:

Hi, I am Marieke from the Netherlands and as always happy to test Ann’s newest patterns ❤️ This blouse is love, love, love ! Also it could actually easily had been split in to two patterns, but lucky we, it’s one pattern! So, I had to try them both right? This time not only on me, but my daughter decided to become my height over the night – well, it feels like that ^^ and I can make all the beautiful patterns from Ann for her now as well! Anyways, I made us both a different version and I had just so much of an relaxing sew! Of course the fit is always spot on and I am not happy—> we are happy! I would say: do yourself a favor and make yourself a ton of cool blouses to fill up your wardrobe staple ❤️ When you like you can have a look at

I am Synthia G from Central Ca. Love the Rylie pattern with 3, yes 3 different tops. I sewed up two, the one with the Trend influence with bishop/pleated sleeves, and the Tailored influence with long sleeves. I used cotton blend fabrics for both tops. I wore the white bishop/pleated sleeves, for a dinner out on my Birthday. I did receive a compliment and was asked where I bought it. I did my normal DS adjustments for a proper fit such as for graded down 1 size for a sloped shoulder and raised bust point. It is always a good idea to sew up a toile to obtain a proper fit and iron as you go along. What a great design Ann, love all 3 versions. Once I buy the right fabric, I’ll sew up the 3rd option with the ties. https://sewsynsewn.blogspot.com/2023/ – sewsynsewn on FB

Hi everyone, I’m Steph from Sydney, Australia! I sewed up my Rylie shirt using a natural linen fabric and I made the short sleeve view with a front pocket. I love the oversized style of this top, it is perfect for pairing with a pair of jeans for that effortless cool vibe or make a matching pair of shorts for a cute summer set. My best advice when sewing the Rylie is to use a good point turner tool to get those crisp corners in your collars. I plan to next make the Rylie in the long-gathered sleeve with a cuff.

Hello, I am Poh Ling from Singapore. I made my Rylie Shirt using cotton fabric from Brighton Accessories House.
Initially I wanted to make the Bishop sleeve version with this fabric but the thought of having to match the stripes made me change my mind and sewed the Tailored sleeve instead. Hence this fabric may not have the required drape for the ruched drawstring front.
Looking at the finished measurement chart, there seems to be ample ease, so I made size 1A blend to size 2 sleeve and hip. I also shorten the length by 2″.
I hope to make the Bishop sleeve version next.
