The Donelle is a beautifully Front Draped easy wearing Jersey Dress.
Offering 4 lengths – Peplum, Above Knee, Knee and Tea Length in both 1/2 and 3/4 circle skirts for that amazing twirl factor – along with a Fitted Pencil Skirt in both Above Knee and Knee Length.
The gorgeous Donelle also offers a choice of 4 sleeve lengths – Cap, Elbow, 3/4’s and Bell.

The Donelle is elegant and sophisticated but so easy to wear.
Choose from circular skirts for that twirl factor or a slim fit pencil skirt for a sassy and cheeky attitude.
To finish off this stunning look the front has an draped cross front extension that is twisted into a tri-slide at the centre front.
The Donelle pattern offers a choice of styling options:
1. Tea Length Skirt.
2. Pencil Skirt – Knee and above Knee.
3. Knee Length Skirt – 3/4 and 1/2 circle.
4. Above Knee Length Skirt – 3/4 and 1/2 circle.
5. Hip Length Peplum.
All of the above styles are completed with choice of:
1. Cap Sleeve.
2. Just Above Elbow Length Sleeve.
3. 3/4 Length Sleeve.
4. Bishop Length Sleeve with Elastic at wrist.
The construction of the Donelle Top and Dress is recommended for Advanced Confident Beginners and Above sewing level due to:

Any weight jersey knit fabrics with some degree of drape are BEST with at least 50 % stretch across fabric and 25% going down the fabric.

The options are plentiful and perfect which I have come to expect from you patterns and design. This came together so easily and was so much fun and surprisingly not to difficult to sew. The addition of the buckle detail is so unique and is a great feature and a way to give this dress you own style touch as I see some testers with sparkles and other self covered which is brilliant. Off to find fabric to make a third as I realise 1 Donelle in your wardrobe is NOT enough. Thanks a million

This is such a fantastic pattern. I’ve made two so far, the first one being more of a wearable toile. But actually I barely needed to make any adjustments to my second version. The super detailed measurements table at the beginning of all Designer Stitch really helps you get a much better fit right from the start, compared to most other patterns. And can I just say how much I love the multi cup sizing. It saves so much time and for me is essential for knits just as much as in woven fabric. I’ll definitely be making more of these dresses because with all the various options you can make each dress / top look very different. My first two versions were short sleeved with 1/2 circle skirts, the next will be with the bishop sleeves and pencil skirt. I just need to find the perfect fabric! Oh and for the belt slider, I found some plain white basic ones on eBay and just use nail polish to paint them the colour I want. Worked really well, just leave them to dry for a decent amount of time.
