Sloane Pyjamas Pattern Testers Roundup Part 2

Hello my lovely sewist friends. Today we have Part 2 of the Sloane PJ’S Pattern Tester Roundups.

And I am sure you were so impressed with yesterday’s Part 1 with your roadies detailing their Sloane PJ’S makes.

The great thing about the design of the Sloane is that there is a styling option for all climates.

Long Sleeve/long leg is ideal for the winter northern hemisphere sewists.

Short sleeve/short leg suits the sewists from the warmer southern hemisphere.

As my dedicated sewists cover both sides of the world I always have to think of designs that will suit both climates.

And the design of the Sloane has certainly hit the mark on this challenge.

I hope you enjoy visiting with our roadies from Part 2.

Love to you all.

I’m Mieke from Belgium.
I bought a beautiful and very soft flannel fabric with a lot of hearts in ecru and rose to make a twinning version for me and my daughter. I like the chest pocket in the contrasting fabric.
I went for the full option with a lot of piping and enjoyed the making process a lot. So be sure to take the time to finish everything neatly.
Sloane doesn’t need styling for me, because I wear this beautiful design to sleep in, and it has to be comfortable (wat it really is).
I didn’t fit alterations for my daughter. My pyjama is lengthened with a contrasting cuff and piping (I ‘m 1m78 tall) and I lowered the armpits with 1,5 centimeters and adjusted the sleeves here as well. This last adjustment I always need to do.
My daughter and I wore our Sloane pyjamas all the time (it goes from the washing machine to the body). They are so beautiful, but also comfortable and, above all, wonderfully warm. We haven’t received any compliments yet (not counting those from our husbands), because no one has seen our pajamas yet.
I am convinced that summer versions will surely follow. But I already ordered some flannel fabric for a lovely winter Sloane

Hello, I’m Poh Ling from Singapore.
I made my Sloane PJs using cotton fabric from Dailylike Korea. I blend from size 1A to size 2 sleeve and size 3 waist for the top and shorten the bodice by 1″. I made straight size 3 for the shorts.
The PJs is so comfy to wear! Will be making more of the pants version soon.

I’m Toni from Northern California.
I made the Sloan PJs from a rayon cotton mix fabric, which is the perfect lightweight fabric to wear year round. These are my favorite PJs I’ve made to date. Unfortunately the fabric came from Joann’s which is now out of business.
The only tricky part was the piping on the collar. Go slow and use a zipper foot are my top tips.
The deep front pockets are the surprise best feature.
I made no alterations.
I have a second set in progress from Liberty Tana Lawn for a different feel and color way.

My name is Sarah, and I live in England.
I’ve made 3 pairs of Sloan PJs: 1 in cotton (short sleeve and shorts length for summer), 1 in viscose, and 1 in flannel material. Both of these are long sleeve and long leg.
My tip would be to practice the piping first, as it’s the details that lift the PJs into something special. And don’t be afraid to use a contrast piping to really highlight it.
I made a size 5 bust, graded to a 6 waist and hips.
I’ve worn my Sloan PJs a lot, especially the shorts set during the summer. I’m looking forward to the temperatures dropping here in the UK so I can wear my flannel ones to lounge around the house on an evening; they should be so cozy.
These are definitely my new favorite PJs. I’m going to make a short sleeve with a long trouser option ready for the spring.

hi, I’m Caroline from Brussels, Belgium. I was planning to make the Sloane sleep set in a nice satin. But unfortunately it didn’t arrive on time, so I made a cotton version. I graded between sizes, lowered the bust point and pocket a bit, and made some standard crotch modifications. All of this is typical for me. No surprises. My Sloane set was finished one day before leaving on a trip, so they came in very handy. I have been wearing them non stop ever since. My partner’s mom is often visiting from Italy, or we go over there. I am so relieved to finally be able to appear decently at the breakfast table when we are together! the cotton one will go with me to Milano next time we visit and stay there. For Brussels I will make a flanel one to match my little ones, and the satin one I had originally planned I’m really excited to finally have nice pyjamas!

I’m Fromut from Germany. I made my Sloane out of a thin cotton toweling from Kattun Stoffe and chose the make the piping myself out of some linen bias binding I had lying around. I made the long sleeved version. My only adjustments were adding length to the sleeves, bodice and legs as I am very tall. I absolutely love the finished product and have been wearing my Pjs non stop! I have just purchased some flannel that I want to make another version out of. The Sloane pyjama’s makes you feel comfy and sexy while you’re sleeping. You’re kinda like sleeping beauty
Sewing silk can be tricky, but with enough pins, its definitely worth it
My fabric is a silver fabric, bought on fb.

hello from Vienna Sophie here. My daughter has been wanting this style of Pyjamas for a while now so I was so happy she finally fits in the DS tween sizing
She reaches for it as soon as it’s clean and has requested a satin version
I plan on making a matching pair for us for the holidays.
Awesome pattern as usual. ❤️
