Anais Dress Pattern Testers Roundup Part 2

Hello and good day to you all my lovelies. Welcome to Part 2 of the Anais Dress Pattern Tester Roundups.
I hope that you enjoyed reading Part 1 our roadies stories – around their own makes – of the Anais Dress.
And of course, seeing their glorious photos of themselves modelling their beautiful garments.
The Anais can be made as a dress or as separates. Add in the various choices of sleeve lengths, and of course dress lengths and you have a truly versatile style.
And I can very much guarantee that given all these possible combinations your Anais‘ will be on constant wardrobe rotation.
It is such a fabulous garment for trans seasonal wearing. And the possibility of many colour combinations is an added styling factor.
So, with a very loud WOOT WOOT let’s start our roundups and our fabulous team of pattern testers – Part 2.

Synthia Lee Gerritson.  I really enjoyed sewing up the Anais skirt and top. My version was the straight skirt, below the knee, with the long sleeve peplum top. I love this set and how easy it came together. I had this fabric from Joann’s before they closed, it’s a medium weight jersey fabric. I struggle with lighter weight jersey fabric, so I am very happy with this medium weight, it sits very nicely on the body. I did grade down for the hips as my hips tend to be narrower. I would like to make the Anais in all black as I love black. Tips: iron as you go, and sew up a muslin for proper fit, it really helps. https://sewsynsewn.blogspot.com.

Hi there! Lianne from Singapore; I used a cotton jersey knit that I’ve hoarded from a custom print many years ago. I did a sleeveless Anais with a separate skirt. The top was a size 2A with a lengthened bodice by 1.5cm. For the skirt I made a size 2 graded to 3 at the hips. It’s really quite a straight forward pattern to follow. Just go slow of the thicker layered areas. I have worn this set to work and it is just so comfy but still looks smart. I’m going through my stash to see what other knits would suit this pattern (I’m on a buying ban for the moment).

Hi everyone, I’m Tina, and I’m excited to share my new Anais Dress! I used this lovely floral ITY fabric from Amanda’s Bundles for my latest project.
I chose the knee-length fitted skirt and 3/4-length sleeves, and made my usual swayback adjustment for a perfect fit. I’ve already worn the dress to church with a lace cami underneath—it was a little too “sexy” for the occasion on its own, but it’s perfect for a night out.
I received so many compliments and will definitely be sewing more of these! This is such a quick project; you’ll be wearing your fabulous Anais in no time.

Amanda G. I fell in love with this pattern the second I saw it and chose a gorgeously drapey deadstock viscose jersey from Empee Fabrics to make it in. I wanted to make the most of the way my fabric fell so chose a long length of the flared skirt and I love it, I feel so ‘swishy’ when I wear it. I also knew from the start that I wanted to make separates so I could have the option of dressing the top down with jeans as well as up with the skirt.
This pattern certainly does not disappoint and I have more on my ‘To Sew’ list

Hey everyone, I’m Shardee from the netherlands.
The anais dress is elegant and sexy at the same time.
Al about must have for your closet
It looks so difficult but I promise you, it’s not that hard.
My advice is: measure twice and cut ones
My fabric is from a surprisebox .
Boots of pumps, both are a super combination with the anais dress

Hi, I’m Barbara from Northeast Mississippi, USA. My first Anais was made using an animal print rayon spandex jersey from my stash. I chose separates, short sleeves, with the shortest length flared skirt. My second Anais is also separate, sleeveless option, with a short flared skirt. I used an ITY fabric that was purchased from Fabric Warehouse Direct. https://fabricwholesaledirect.com/…/stream-african…
For both Anais’ I used my normal Forward shoulder adjustment, and shortened the skirt length for my height. I have worn my Anais’ out and about, and I’ve received many compliments. I plan on making another Anais set, sleeveless with a full-length flared skirt, for my upcoming cruise next month. Anias is such a quick and easy sew!

I’m Fromut from Germany
I used some solid yellow jersey that I got at a fabric trade a couple of years ago. Overall it was very quick and easy to sew. I lengthened the front slightly and also lengthened the sleeves by 2 cm to account for my hight (190cm). I haven’t worn my Anais out in public yet but my partner at least was very complimentary when I was taking pictures of it I love it for autumn and am planning to make another out of some pretty floral fabric I have in my stash. Hi, my name is Beck and I’m from Melbourne, Australia. I really enjoyed sewing the Anais pattern, it was a great pleasure. I used a double brushed poly from Lush Fabrics Australia and the drape is perfect for this design. I made a top and skirt so I can wear my pieces separately or together depending on the occasion.

Hello I’m Tina from South Yorkshire in the UK. My Anais is made in beautiful soft jersey viscose, which worked very well with the drape required for Anais. My fabric was from my stash.
My Anais is the dress option, straight skirt and 3/4 sleeve. I made a straight size 5 as i was ok with my fabric stretch and recovery.
The pattern is a relatively easy make and once your binding along the neck line is on, the garment comes together so quickly. I love the fact that there is a skirt / top option which again, as a separate, will be a go to pattern.

@begonapalomas
Gracias me han encantado todas las versiones
