Greetings! I am Allison from Milwaukee, WI, USA. Ann’s patterns are always my first choice. Milla is pure fabulousness.
I made my photographed Milla from a linen viscose blend in bright red. I had purchased the fabric with something different in mindz but life did its thing. This time that was a good this because WOW! Sure made up into a fabulous dress.
As always, I made a fit before making my final. I have recently lost some weight so, I was struggling with sizing. But, due to long experience I knew to trust Ann’s measurement chart. I graded appropriately. Things I discovered, the material I used for the fit was much softer with more drape, a more stable interfacing would have been useful for the front facing. Also, ended up needing to shorten the bodice to bring up the waistline. I did this by pinching out the needed amount under the darts from both the bodice and the facing.
Milla is a wrap, but Ann drafts for a full wrap. This means the dress wraps side seam to side seam, mostly. While it takes extra fabric, this design choice makes wearing much more comfortable while making the risk of a wardrobe malfunction low.
I paired with summer heeled wedges for photos, but think I should go shoe shopping for something just right for my Milla Dress. Do I plan more? When I come across the right fabric absolutely!!
I highly recommend this dress pattern. I felt like a million bucks wearing this design. Thanks for another great pattern and design.

Hello Lovelies, this is Brenda from the Netherlands.
For this test I made a lovely dress in the shortest length and half length sleeves. I used a cotton based voile crepe from www.megastoffen.nl and it turned out fantastic! The dress is easy in styling, I can wear it with sandals, pumps or high boots. All options are giving another vibe and that’s just lovely.
The dress is not a difficult sew. I would however advise to not try to rush, the details are so much better if you take the time for them.
Everybody who saw the dress loved it very much and complimented on the combination of the model and the fabric I used.
Love Brenda
My name is Karman and I’m from Utah, USA. I made my Milla wrap dress from a midweight rayon challis that I’ve had for years and found this to be the perfect project for it. I choose to make the long sleeves with cuffs which I’m always hesitant to do but the instructions are great and I now have cuffs that I’m proud of. I made a few adjustments to get my perfect fit. First I started with a size 3b and graded to 4 for my waist and hip, reduced the shoulder width by 3/8”, cut 1/2” off the bodice length, and lengthened the shortest skirt by 1”. I love how it turned out and can’t wait to wear it when the temperate drops a bit.
I’m Maria and I live in Sydney Australia
When I was able to test out Milla wrap dress I decided to use a wool twill fabric with a border print. This wrap dress has two sleeve options and since it’s cool weather here at the moment I decided to use the long sleeve with cuffs. I used the shortest skirt version because I’m short.
2. What fabric combinations did you choose and where did you purchase
This fabric is a remnant that I bought last year. This is a wool twill with a border print so of course, I chose the cuff sleeve Milla version. I love detailing like cuffs and collars.
3. What sewing tips can you share when sewing the Milla?
Firstly follow the sewing instructions. They’re brilliant.
Secondly, check your body measurements before you print out your pattern.
Lastly, try the winter version because the sleeve detailing is great.
4. What was your style choice for the Milla ?
The shortest skirt with cuff sleeves.
5. What fit alterations did you have to make to the Milla ?
Skirt – shortened the darts to 10cm long. I know where my curves start so I do this for all my dresses and trousers. Once I finished sewing the dress I raised the hem by 7cm because I am short.
Bodice – forward shoulder adjustment on the back yoke, front bodice pieces and sleeve curve. I raised the dart by 2cm and shortened the dart by 2.5cm. I took out 5cm from the bodice length below the bust dart.
Sleeve – I shortened the sleeve length by 4cm.
6. Have you worn your Milla yet and what compliments did you receive.
I’ve just finished my Milla and will wear it next weekend.
7. Any plans for future combinations of the Milla ?
Oh yes. I want to try it again and use a buckle for the wrap part of the dress.

Hi everyone, here is Sandra ♀️from the Netherlands.
I like patterns, expecially from Ann – designer stitch. Well, the new Milla wrap dress is absolutely stunning. I immediately felt in LOVE when I saw this pattern! I think EVERYONE needs this!!! ❤️❤️
I used viscose fabric and the look I had in mind is to wear it to work and at home. It’s very comfortable and nice looking.
I already cutted a new one, in colour pink. Due personal things at home, I couldn’t make it already. Definitely will make it this week so I can promote this. And for sure, there will follow a lot more!! I can promise that .
I altered a little as I’m 1,75cm.
He everyone,
I’m Shardee from the netherlands.
My beautiful mila wrap is made of a wide woven fabric bought at a fb group
A wrap is always a good idea..it suits everyone
It’s not hard sewing it, but I definitely recommend to make a toile of the body. So you can make it fits you’re body perfectly.
I styled it with high heels, but in the fall I will wear it with boots.
When I was wearing it at work, I did get a lot of compliments. They also loved it.
I’m Tina and I’m saying hello from California. I want to share with you my new Milla, another great design from DS. I used this Polkadot Cotton Chambray from Boho Fabrics. I did my usual sway back adjustments and adjusted for my height. I recommend you take your time and definitely make a muslin so you know what adjustments, if any, you’ll need to make. I love that I can wear this out for a casual outing or add some pretty heels and jewelry for a fancier occasion. So far I’ve only worn out for a dinner date and people can’t believe I sewed this dress myself. So don’t hesitate and start sewing your own Milla today.
I am Valentina from Dallas, TX. It was a true pleasure to be part of the Milla road test! This dress is gorgeous and the pattern is well drafted as always.
For my Milla, I used a rayon blend striped fabric that is light, soft and draped nicely.
I made size 3 A cup and the only alteration I made was shortening the bodice length at the mid back by just a little bit. The rest of the pattern fit perfectly.
I also decided to use a metal buckle as an alternative to tying the dress, and I really love this look. I think there are other ways it can be done too.
In the future l, want to make another version of the dress that has long sleeve and a bit heavier fabric.
