Rylie Shirt Pattern Testers Roundup Part 1

Hello my lovely sewist friends.

The Rylie will be such a fabulous addition to your wardrobe as it offers 3 distinct styling ideas.

Option 1 is the first trend influence. The front has a drawstring inserted to allow the body to be drawn to create gorgeous draping and held with left side ties. Such a huge fashion influence currently.

Option 2 uses the elements of the pattern to create a traditional soft tailoring look.

Option 3 is another trend influence. Voluminous pleated bishop sleeve into a separate sleeve head back into a lower cuff.

All options of the Rylie Shirt are completed with a 2-piece shirt collar, plackets and cuffs.

The Rylie has something for everyone. So, let’s all shout out for our roadies – part 1 – who are so fabulous showcasing their own Rylie’s.
Love to you all.

Hello everyone, I am Camelia, and I live in Spain.
I created two versions of the beautiful Riley shirts, each made from a very different fabric. First, I tried the option with the drawstring detail in the front, and I chose a beautiful viscose with a lovely drape, as it’s an excellent option for that front detail. For the second version, with the pleated sleeves, I went with a cotton from Minerva. This cotton has the perfect “body” to keep those pleats nice and crisp.
So, you can sew the Rylie shirt in both soft and crisp fabrics, depending on the style options you choose.
I wore my cotton version a few times already. I love wearing those sleeves up to create a nice puffy sleeve.

Hello! I’m Ashley Riley from London.
I absolutely love the design of the new Rylie shirt – it’s such a versatile and stylish piece. For my version, I used a leaf-print viscose from ABC Fabric, which worked beautifully for the drape and movement of the shirt.
I always recommend making a toile (test version) in a fabric similar to what you’ll use for your final garment. It really helps identify any adjustments you might need to make. For my Rylie, I shortened the length by about 2 inches so it sat perfectly on me.
I styled my Rylie with a pair of combat trousers for a classic, everyday look – but it would also look great tucked into a skirt for something a bit smarter.
I’ve already worn my shirt several times – it’s ideal for London’s current weather – and I’ve had so many lovely compliments on it!

Hey everyone! I’m Tina, and I’m so excited to share my latest make: the Rylie Top!
I chose this gorgeous ruby Crepe De Chine fabric from Surge Fabrics. It has the perfect drape and weight to bring out the lovely ruching detail on the side.
This pattern is incredibly beginner-friendly and so fast to sew—you’ll easily finish one in an afternoon!
My only modification was shortening the sleeves to a 3/4 length. I wore this top to a school event and was absolutely flooded with compliments! I’m definitely adding the Rylie Top to my rotation!

I love the Rylie pattern so much! For my first, I went with the drawstring ruched front option and simple tailored sleeve. I used a black/white striped viscose fabric from selfmade.de
I love the relaxed style.
I have worn my Rylie out a few times now and got loads of compliments it’s so on trend too. My particular option is a very quick sew and and is best in fabrics with drape. Have fun sewing ❤️

Hello Lovelies, this is Brenda from the Netherlands.
I’ve made 2 versions of the Rylie blouse since a blouse is always a good addition to your wardrobe.
My most favorite part of the pattern is the big sleeves, they are faboulous.
Both my fabrics are bought at driessenstoffen and are a cotton poplin.
When making a blouse take your time, it will show the effort you are putting in. If you rush it, it will show. The blouse will be worn soon when I head into the office, but as of yet I didn’t got a chance to do so.
