Iris Sleep Set

Hello I’m Ashley R from London
I’m here to talk about the beautiful Iris pattern, which comes with the option of a dress, Cami with shorts or trousers. I’ve used this lovely dusky pink soft touch fabric ABC Fabric which I’ve added some trim to match. My sewing tips would be to read the measurements chat to make sure your making the right size but also make a trial run in old fabric but same weight as your good fabric.
I went for the cami and short which will be great for London summer nights. My only alterations to this pattern was shortening the cami as I’m 5 foot and wanted it to sit just at my shorts waist line.. I’m keeping my Iris set for a special night as will be perfect for valentions day. I’ve also made the dress version which could be worn for a night out depending on the fabric you use. I will be trying the trouses out next as will make a cute set for the cooler evening. I love the fit and all the little extra details you can add with lace trim to make it look even more fancy.

Hi, I’m Luana, and I live in Raleigh, NC, in the US.
For my Iris set, I used a silk fabric that I purchased at a market in Milan years ago (yes, I’m still trying to sew up my stash!).
Since I used a very slippery fabric, my advice while sewing the Iris is to use a lot of pins; they definitely helped me a lot!
The options I chose are the cami length top with the high waist shorts.
The alteration I did on my size 3 A cup was my usual sway-back adjustment.
I haven’t worn my Iris set yet, but my boyfriend likes it!
I might try the slip version next!

Hello, my sewing friends❤️
My name is MACU, from Spain and you can find me on Instagram as @macusewinglove
Here I come with a very special set. The IRIS PATTERN comes with the option of a dress, Cami with shorts or trousers.
I chose the cami and shorts version as Ian going to use it nonstop but I still have to make a dress only because I find it really beautiful
I feel the satin matches this bies cut pattern perfectly ❤️ and I adore the feature the short (or the trousers) doesn’t have side seams!!
The fabric is saten remnant from a previous project and was bought in N&N Stoffen
https://nnstoffen.nl/…
I combined the sateen with some purple lace and it was my first time doing so, as the trim I bought didn’t match exactly the lace I just cut 4 cm of the side lace for the straps and front, I also added some bra straps to give it more support.
My sewing tips would be to make a toile first and make the required adjustments to get the perfect fit, in fact I made a toile in embroidery light cotton and it has become a wearable one as I couldn’t help finishing it.
But I do recommend to use a luxurious fabric to bring the gorgeous princess you are and deserve ❤️ . Also my double drive sewing machine helped a lot when sewing slippery fabrics
My daughter just asked for an IRIS set for herself!!

Hi all, my name is Valentina, and I live in Dallas, TX.
I loved being part of the Iris pattern road test! Recently I have developed an obsession with night gowns of all kinds, so when Ann called for testers, I jumped on the opportunity.
At first I thought of doing just basic white cotton, but then I found this slinky pink fabric in my stash, and it seemed like the perfect choice for this pattern. It was also fun working with lace.
I hadn’t sewn much in the last few years and I was getting worried that I will forget how to. But it turns out it comes back right away.
I made pattern size 3 and didn’t make any changes at all. I probably should have graded to 4 at the chest, and next time I will.
But either way, my Iris is perfect as is, and I have worn it many times, and I love feeling beautiful in it.

Hi, I am Marieke and I am from the Netherlands.
Well, and again a stunning pattern! I own a couple in the meantime and I love them so much!
I am not sure which option I love the most: the nightgown is just so pretty and it doesn’t really matter to put on your clothes immediately in the morning. It’s more then okay to wear it and open a door for the mailman without being ashamed lol.
But the the cami version with the shirts are also so comfortable! I love love love the fit of the pants- only because of the pants it’s already worth to buy the pattern.
The top/ gown is cut on bias which makes it even more comfortable to wear.
The sew is pretty straight forward, but personal adjustments are the key here.
Since everybody is different, so is every body, it’s worth to make a fit first and adjust as necessary.
Since it’s a pretty quick sew, I would aim for Valentine’s Day to get yours ready
Have fun sewing!

Hello all, this is Brenda from the Netherlands.
If you are looking for a nice sleep set that has that extra touch, don’t look any further. The Iris is the one you are looking for.
I’ve made the slip dress with the cute lace sleeves. The slip dress is made from a lovely satin. Very soft and luxurious. The store that sold it is unfortunately no longer in business.
So…. are you ready to feel like a queen?
Love you all.
